Meet Kate Marshall Flaherty! Kate’s poem, “White on Green,” will be featured in our upcoming poetry special issue, vol. 12!

“Strange spots on a maple leaf—witness, meditation, metaphor, and then?”

Kate Marshall Flaherty was shortlisted for the Mitchell Poetry Prize 2021, Arc’s Poem of the Year 2019 and the Gwendolyn MacEwen Poetry Prize 2018. She has published five books of poetry and has been published in numerous Canadian and international journals such as Contemporary Verse 2, Vallum, Grain, Room, Trinity Review, The Literary Review of Canada and American Academy of Poets. She writes spontaneous “Poems Of the Extraordinary Moment” (P.O.E.M.s) for charity, in person and online, and guides StillPoint Writing and Poetry Editing Circles online. Rosa Fernandez is a writer, slam-winning performance poet and freelance editor from Burton-on-Trent in the U.K. Midlands. She studied English at Goldsmiths, University of London, has worked for various publishing houses, and enjoys wearing jaunty hats. She has performed at Glastonbury and was once nearly a pop star. She is still working on her novel.
