Reader Bios:
Award-winning scholar, playwright, and poet, Diana Manole has published academic articles, poems, short stories, plays, and eight books, including Angel with a Canadian Visa (2011); The Textile Revolution (Second Prize, Romanian Comedy Contest, 2007), and The Child Who Didn’t Want to Be Born (National Prize for Debut in Drama, Romanian Writers Union, 1999). Her poetry in English (originals or in translation) has appeared in The Nashwaak Review, Maple Tree Literary Supplement, POEM (in the U.K.), Lunch Ticket, Third Wednesday, untethered, Grain, and elsewhere. Her poems and translations of Canadian and British poets have come out in several Romanian magazines. B&W, her latest collection of poems, will be published in 2015 by Tracus Arte in a bilingual English-Romanian edition, co-translated with Adam J. Sorkin. Manole lives in Toronto and teaches at Guelph University and Trent University.
John Rowntree is in his final year of English and theatre studies at the University of Toronto Scarborough, where he has been fortunate enough to stage four of his own short plays. His other interests include astronomy and helping with lighting and set elements in theatre productions. He is currently working towards compiling a short story collection.
Vincent Colistro‘s poems have appeared in various literary magazine, including The Walrus, CV2, Arc, Geist and Grain. His first book is forthcoming next year with Signal Editions.
Nicole Brewer is a writer, editor, and micropress publisher in Toronto. She is co-founder of the micropress words(on)pages, and is passionate about emerging writers, small press culture, short fat dogs, and tea. Her work can be found in Hypertrophic Literary and text.
Christine Ottoni is an emerging writer and poet living in Toronto. Her work has appeared in Canadian journals, magazines and anthologies. After completing her undergraduate degree in English and Philosophy at the University of Toronto she attended the Humber School for Writers.
Jason Paradiso is an editor/poet/writer/artist whose name has appeared in a variety of mastheads. He continues to work on his ongoing collection of poetry, Cut Lines & Pulled Quotes, created with (re)arranged clippings from dated magazines.
André Babyn is in his first year as an MA student in Creative Writing at the University of Toronto. His fiction has appeared in Maisonneuve, PANK, Grain, Gigantic, Hobart, and elsewhere. He is currently an Associate Editor of Non-Fiction at the Puritan and a Fiction Editor at Echolocation.
