Past Contributor Reading Series: Jaclyn Desforges

Today in the PCRS, Jaclyn Desforges reading her poem “Crabapples” from untethered vol. 4.2

Jaclyn Desforges writes fiction and poetry for kids and adults. She’s the author of Why Are You So Quiet? (Annick Press, 2020), Hello Nice Man (Anstruther Press 2019), and a full-length collection of poetry forthcoming with Palimpsest Press in 2022. Jaclyn is the winner of the 2018 RBC/PEN Canada New Voices award, the 2019 Hamilton Public Library Freda Waldon Award for Fiction, the 2019 Judy Marsales Real Estate Ltd. Award for Poetry, and a 2020 Hamilton Emerging Artist Award for Writing. Her work has been featured in literary magazines across Canada. Jaclyn is currently working on a collection of short fiction with the generous support of the Canada Council for the Arts.

Today in the PCRS, Elena Bentley reading “Navel” and “Fortune at La Mezquita” from untethered vol. 5.1 .

Elena Bentley is a disabled poet from Saskatchewan. In 2018, she completed a master’s degree in English at the University of Toronto. Past Contributor Reading Series: Yoko Morgenstern

Today in the PCRS, Yoko Morgenstern reading from her piece “St. Clair West, 2 a.m.” from untethered vol. 2.2.

Yoko Morgenstern is originally from Tokyo. She started writing fiction while she was living in Canada, inspired by many writers who wrote in a second language. She is the author of two books in Japan and the United States, the translator of the novelist Katherine Govier, and a columnist at Newsweek Japan. Her literary work has appeared in journals in the US, UK, Canada, and India. Her yet-published short story collection, A Perfect Day to Die, which includes “St. Clair West” from untethered, was among the finalists for Eyelands International Book Awards 2019, Greece, and she’s looking for representation for the project. “The Comedian,” published in Flash Fiction Online in 2018, was also featured by Book Riot. Currently, she lives in Nuremberg, Germany.
